Founded in 2022 and based in Denver, Innovate Properties seeks real estate acquisition and development opportunities along the Colorado Front Range.
The two founding Principals are highly experienced in all facets of real estate acquisition/disposition, management, and financing. While we are initially focused on multifamily residential assets, we will invest in multiple opportunistic real estate deals that meet our high standards.
We research, acquire, own, operate and maintain all properties with a hands-on approach. During due diligence we are on-site to inspect the physical plant, review all leasing history and current operations, and scrutinize the property to our own high standards. We are personally invested and highly motivated to maintain high occupancy rates and effectively manage properties to keep our residents and investors happy.
The firm’s principals have a track record of creating value through a vertically integrated process of development or repositioning of existing assets and capitalizing on the markets. This process results in higher net operating income and improves various exit opportunities throughout the life cycle of each investment. Innovate Properties’ long-standing and expanding relationships drive proprietary deal flow, inform and execute repositioning strategies and enhance financing and monetization opportunities.

Shane started his real estate career in 1998 providing property management and leasing services in Milwaukee, WI for low-income housing tax credit properties. He’s lived and learned the value of hands-on management and the upside available to investors with intense and respectful management of multi-family properties. Since 2011, Shane has served as Senior Investment Officer at Ventas, Inc. (NYSE: VTR) a S&P 500 company that invests and operates healthcare and senior housing commercial real estate. He is responsible for the acquisition of medical office buildings and establishing strategic joint venture relationships with developers and owners. Shane joined Ventas in 2011 as part of the Nationwide Health Properties (NHP) acquisition, and prior to joining NHP, he served as a Senior Acquisitions Associate with InSite Medical Properties, a division of The Broe Group, handling the acquisition, equity and debt financing. Shane received a BBA in Real Estate and Urban Development and Marketing from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a MBA from University of Colorado-Denver. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Colorado.

Ryan is an experienced real estate professional with over 15 years of acquisition and management experience of commercial real estate assets. He previously served as Senior Director for the U.S. Healthcare & Life Sciences Capital Markets at CBRE, (NYSE: CBRE) a Fortune 150 commercial real estate services and investment firm. Ryan is a seasoned commercial real estate advisor with fourteen years in brokerage and has overseen the successful closing of over 230+ investment sale transactions totaling over 31 million square feet and valued at over $11 billion. Ryan specialized in advising clients in the disposition, acquisition and recapitalization of income-producing healthcare and life science real estate properties, assisting healthcare providers with strategic capital planning (including monetization and capital raising efforts), and advising health systems and physician groups in the developer selection process. Prior to working for CBRE, Ryan worked as a Personal Banker at Bank of America in downtown San Francisco and specialized in mortgage and small business loans. Ryan received a BA in International Political Economy from The Colorado College and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Colorado.
